Rising to his fame, Indra was entrusted in becoming the personal attorney for the Fourth President of Indonesia, Abdurrahman Wahid, acting as the former president’s direct legal advisor to the “Bruneigate” (2000) embezzlement scandal. In 2003, Indra was also appointed as a criminal defense attorney for former Director of the State Intelligence Agency Lieutenant General H. Sutiyoso in relation to the investigation of the involvement of the Indonesian Military Forces on the 27th July 1996 mob attack on the head office of the Indonesian Democratic Party (PDIP). 

Indra have also gained acknowledgement within the international community of lawyers in which he was delegated by the state as Indonesia’s Advocate delegate before the United Nations, Rome (2002), and in Mexico in the subsequent year (2003). In 2005, as a representative of advocates in Indonesia, Indra was appointed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Law Society of Singapore relating to corruption extradition. Moreover, in the following year, Indra have also been delegated again to lead the “Global Justice” conference in Rome, and in New York. 

Since then, with the influence and connections that has been built, Indra brought a tremendous legacy throughout his career within the Indonesian the Indonesian justice system. In 2008, Indra together with Prof. Dr. Adnan Buyung Nasution have established one of Indonesia’s largest bar organizations “Kongres Advokat Indonesia” which are currently spread out on over 33 provinces in Indonesia with a total over 30,000 registered advocates members admitted (2019).
